Just use a flat plane textured with an invisible .dds and loft it.

Create invisible texture by making its alpha channel totally black and then set the transparency flag on in your materials roll out.

Oh right simple as that is it  always the way isn't it. I'll give that a shot, see how it goes. Thanks.

Ok then just created my invisible loft, now will I need to export the invisible loft separate to the model (invisible loft start and end) then use the model as middle geometry?
Here is my image now so far.

OK, the invisible object should be exported to TS to create an .igs file.

Then export your fence separately and use the scenery blueprint to create a scenery .xml.

Start a loft section blueprint and the invisible.igs goes in the Cross section ID section under Render.

Then add your scenery.xml to the Middle Geometry BPID, set Population frequency to the length of your scenery object, then have a look in preview and see if you need to add start and/or end geometry. Usually with fences they are not needed or you may need a simple scenery fencepost to place at the end.

Ok still appearing invisible in game, here is my blueprint set-up as instructed. What have I done wrong?
Do I need to delete the end faces on both sides of the model? (the posts)

Your blueprints look OK, so the problem lies elsewhere.

Firstly check you have loft material for the invisible item and a standard RW material for the scenery item, if so, switch off the transparency in your material for the invisible loft and see if it appears in the preview window. If it doesn't appear then you may not have created the loft properly - remember it has to be extruded.(see how to create a track loft)

If that doesn't solve it I'll have to think of some other way of resolving it.

My black plane which is the invisible loft I have used LoftTexDiffTrans.fx and I used my normal shader for the actual model which is TrainBasicObjectDiffuse.fx I have extruded the model, I've done what you said but still no joy. Any chance of you taking a look at it for me, or do you have any other ideas?
p.s out of curiosity should I have created my railings with a spline instead of using 3d objects to create a loft, is that where I may of gone wrong with?

OK I got it working.

There are a number of errors in your work which I have detailed in a PM, along with your updated file.
