Postby Class1987 » Sun Feb 02, 2020 12:29 pm

Hi everyone I seem to be having trouble resetting my axis to it's correct position, I've tried resetting the pivot, gizmo and even tried resetting the Xform still didn't work I have an image of my problem so if anybody can guide me on getting this fixed I'd be most grateful.
Cheers, Ian.

Hi,

How do you want to reset it? Do you want to reorientate it to a specific position?

Once you select the pivot point, you can move it around like you would any object.

Could you explain what you don’t like about where it is and what ultimately you want to do?

Or do you want the object to be moved up?

Hi Richard what I'm trying to get at is as you see on the image the axis should be positioned in line with the object created as shown on this image here with the Y facing left and the X facing up. As you see on my other photo the axis is not in line with the model. I did do a test the other day when rotating an object and the axis doesn't follow the object created it stays put. Should it follow the created object so it lines up with it?
Cheers, Ian.

Can you do me a favor....can you do a screen shot of the whole screen with all the settings?

I am willing to look at the file if you send it to me. I will PM my email address.

Or you could send me your address.

One question, if you create a new file (a blank) and then make an object, do you
Have the same issue? My question is to try and get at whether you had a problem with this object vs a general setting you have in 3DS.

I have a feeling the answer still is to make changes to the pivot point, even though you tried that. Have you tried doing that?

I'll send you the file across I'm working on Nottingham station at the moment and the same issue is on that too so I'll send you that plus I'll send you an example file that I've created before and after type of thing.
