Breadsall Station

Breadsall Station

Postby briyeo » Sat Mar 21, 2015 2:11 pm

Finally got one of the many GNR station buildings needed for our route into the game. Still quite a bit of work needed on it but I'm fairly pleased with how it looks.

Some great details Brian ! Love the stepped chimney tops and barge board intricacies. Thanks for posting this shot up, always interested to see how you guys are getting on ;)

This is an oddball, despite many of the stations having similar building "components." Breadsall closed to passengers in 1953 and was still in LNER Buckingham green and stone colours. The signal box stayed open and was repainted but the station buildings never were, as Brian's lovely model shows.

WIP Small mostly wooden waiting room building, this style was used at Breadsall and West Hallam. Viewed in Crafter, not in game yet.

Thanks Paul, I have had my customary dramas during making this model, but fortunately they don't show. :)

Brilliant Brian.

I thought I was a bit OTT about detail on lineside models, but you even have the angled corners on the upper window sash! :o

Thanks Phil, I knew that Paul would most likely see it, he is the one responsible for raising the bar on detail. :) I am expecting comments from Keith about there not being a fireplace in the Ladies Waiting Room.

It's so beautifully modelled and realistic that I want to open the doors and explore the interiors. One of the 'drawbacks' of Brian fitting clear glass in the windows is that the interiors have to be crafted but, despite Brian's concerns, I don't think he needs to model every last detail because it's only sad geeks like me that will make a point of looking inside. For most players I'm sure that the walls will do nicely.
