Occlusion Box

Occlusion Box

Postby WeaselWorks » Fri Apr 17, 2015 5:58 am

Hi all,

here's my latest attempt at something.

Is there a method for including an Occlusion box, so the rain does not come in?

Don't quote me on this but I THINK that due to the way occlusion boxes work, you would have to do what has been done always since they were introduced and place the building and then an occlusion box to fit accordingly, rather than being able to include one as a child object or something like that.

I think that James is right. With any other object, you could have added it as a child, but as the occlusion box is essentially a scaleable decal, it would probably have to be done in the editor.

Cool, thanks.

The only problem is that the Tunnel Occlusion Volume makes everything darker than the inside of a black cat, in a sack, at midnight.

A bit later.

So, I found the occlusion blueprint thingy, and have made a BP with my building shape as the render object.

It still lets the rain in. I think I need to make a box shape and use that as the render.

You can make the occlusion volume lighter once placed, I did a tutorial here: http://dpsimulation.blogspot.co.uk/2012 ... on_24.html

I thought the occlusion box was just to make the inside of a building, under a bridge etcetera a bit darker ? - it would be good news though if we could stop rain , snow, steam etc. passing through objects.

Cheers

There's an option in the blueprint to stop rain. It does not seem to work. But I'm still fiddling with it.

Not at all, it also stops rain and snow entering. I believe Steam doesn't though.
