Postby DominusEdwardius » Fri May 02, 2014 1:24 pm

As a counter proposal to the Pug how about finishing the 1F :)

The pack would contain both steam braked version and a combination Vac/Steam braked version as well as a full/half cab model

Rather unhelpfully, I said yes to this too, because I would like both. :D

You could just create both in one pack and be done with it :)

I'd rather have the Pug - there's not enough LYR stuff around. Talking of the Lanky, didn't I see that you were working on a 'coffee pot', Mike?

That class of 1Fs would be a minefield as there were more variations than you could shake a stick at. Some had all-over cabs, some retained boilers with round-topped fireboxes and Salter valves on the dome! MT would have to provide us with something like a Lego kit of parts.

My first thought was: a torpedo on an engine?
Was this a usual make of a water tank for engine filling - to me it looks like tons of bricks for not so much water.
And what did they keep in that shed - coal? Funny to have the boards inside and the structure timberwork outside.

That's quite an interesting idea. :D Train Sim: Abstract Warfare?

It's an interesting structure. It looks like a pressure vessel, but of course that doesn't mean that whatever was in it was under pressure: it could have been re-used. What I'm sure of, is that the brick-and-wood structure behind is a cooling tower of the type that was in common use before the better-known concrete waisted ones. Neither a pressure vessel nor a cooling tower were seen on the typical motive power depot, so it would be interesting to know where this photo was taken.
