Made It To Sagittarius A!

As per the title, made it to the Galactic Core which for the benefit of those who don't play the game, is a long way from civilisation and consists of a rather large Black Hole!

Of course getting there is only half the story, you need to come back which using normal travel works out at in excess of 700 jumps back to Sol or about 25000 light years.

Stuff that! Now using the neutron star system which is a bit more perilous but reduces travel to a more manageable 200 jumps although not necessarily 3.5 times faster as it takes longer to set up the jump and you need to break periodically to get fuel from a main sequence star.

Sounds interesting and well done.
I got Elite D a long time ago but I've barely played it (27 hours) and not at all since June 2015! I mooched about a bit and then couldn't really see what I was meant to be doing.
I think I should give it a go again as I've had a HOTAS for a long time and now have an Oculus Rift, and in VR it's meant to be very good. I'm just not sure what to do in such an infinite playing area! Any advice Vern?

Nice one Vern. I work for the group Iridium Wing in game. Our specialism is escorting explorers safely back into the bubble or colonia. Let us know if you are interested in a professional safe return to sell your data.

Ok thanks, I wont bother installing it again then. I don't play well with others - or rather having played Eve for a short time, I don't appreciate some mindless ***** wasting hours of my time by killing me for no reason - so I only play solo. So if it's no longer viable in single player then there's no point.
No worries, I have a big backlog of sale purchased and unplayed Steam games to work through

This thread should be moved to the members only area. ;)
If the petitioning forces find out that you actually spend time with other games, they will cry out "how many more steamers could we have if he would not spend time with ...".
But then again, you only mentioned your backlog of unplayed games. So you may actually spend your time creating steamers. Well done then.
(Don't mention your believed entitlement to spare time, that is a thing of the past, we all must be optimised and utilised more than ever, customers demand that.)
