Elite Dangerous TSD clan

I grew up spending many hours in my early teens playing the original Elite game on the BBC B micro. Elite Dangerous is the 4th game in the series and will feature multi player space combat, trading, pirating of epic proportions.

I have to admit to this being the most eagerly awaited game for me ever. I backed the game on kickstarter to the point of being a beta tester (for even more money I could have got into the alpha team).

Anyway. The game supports multi player and groups (clans).

Are any other members into Elite and would you like to start a TSD (TrainSimDev.com) clan with myself. We can fly round the universe selling our wares, being bounty hunters or even pirates!

Hope there are a few other Elite fans on the forum.

The game has not been released yet but will be in approximately 3 months I believe.

When it is released i shall get it and i would be interested in the Clan Idea.

My interest comes mostly from my dad playing it when he was younger on the Commodore 64, i have played it on a C64 and of course Emulators and have loved the game.

I'll be playing :)

The first multiplayer Alpha (Alpha 2) was DOA to me, just wouldn't stay connected let alone fly anywhere. :D
Alpha 3.4 has got a hell of a lot more stable than previous versions.

Alpha 4 is coming very soon which includes proper fast travel, Hyperspace and trading which I'm very much looking forward to playi..erm testing

Multiplayer Premium Beta is starting on 25th May though single player combat 'scenarios' are now available for that tier.

10 min video of leaving Zelada station, dog fighting for a bit and returning to dock with Zelada Station. Haven't been on it for a fortnight so was a bit rusty, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Nice video Chris D. Enjoyed watching that. I really do need to build that new computer before the launch of Elite.

I don't buy pre-release games (I think it's setting a terrible precedent for the industry as a whole) but when it's fully out then count me in 8-)

As somebody who spent an /astonishing/ amount of time playing the original on my Beeb B, I'm all over this... When the full game is out (having just seen how much it costs to join the Beta).

Yeh it is quite expensive. I joined after the Kickstarter had finished (I did not hear about it in time) but they had some other options then.

I have standard beta access and will get the core game and all addons for ever. It cost me £85 but I grew up with Elite :D

In fact my username on all the forums I use is my original game name. I was Commander Nobkins. As a backer I got to reserve my commander name so the Commander Nobkins space adventure will continue ;) My dad always had to land in space stations for me until I could afford a docking computer.... those were the days :D (removes rose tinted glasses).
