Good VA

Postby BigVern » Thu May 15, 2014 9:13 pm

Does anyone know of a Virtual Airline for MS FSX which meets the following (admittedly stringent) parameters:

1. Established and not run by an enthusiastic but out of their depth 11 year old and vanishes after six weeks.
2. Specialises in "heavy" iron, i.e. commercial jetliners.
3. Does not require flights to be flown online at Vatsim or similar.
4. Allows time acceleration and/or save and resume.
5. Preferably based on real world airline.

I've looked at several VA's but Items 3 and 4 seem to be the sticking points.

Sadly don't know myself. Maybe ask on the SimHQ forums?

I'm one of 4 directors of a VA, with quite an open flying policy.

Head over the GEO Airlines and see what you think. We're still in quite the growing phase at the minute, but, everything seems to be going along smoothly, and we're always greatful for new pilots joining us.

Thanks Ewan, unfortunately the requirement to use TeamSpeak kind of rules it out. As noted above I prefer to fly off line and just file a PIREP on completion of a flight.

The use of TeamSpeak is not mandatory on GEO.

Not disagreeing with you Ewan, but from the "Rules" section:

1.5) All members are required to sign on to TeamSpeak 3 when flying or controlling, so you can be contacted if there is a problem.

Also note accelerated time not permitted, although I could probably live with that.

As I said, very hard to find a VA with the flexibility I'm looking for.

Ah yes, I forgot about the rules bit.

Being a director, I've never really followed them...

"Do as I say, not as I do..>" springs to mind...

I think the best course of action will probably be to save up the pennies for FSX FS Passengers.
