And the offer of a free copy of Trainz (TS12) remains for anyone who should want it. :)

... If memory serves me correctly there may be a Version number difference with the Steam as opposed to N3V/Auran purchased version, but would have thought by now the updates and patches would be synchronised to give a consistent end product to all users.

Unfortunately not a nice screenshot of Suiltjelma, but courtesy of Darren, I had a look at the default Norfolk and Western route. I must say, I'm pretty damn impressed by the route scenery and loco! I certainly think TS would benefit from the Speed-trees foliage for 3D trees and bushes, as these look good in Trainz to me:

3748

I particularly enjoyed the fact that the steam loco had a working steam chest built into the core simulation. No, the game isn't that realistic but there's clearly plenty of enjoyment to be had from it. Thanks Darren! :D

The Mojave Sub (aka Tehachapi) built into TS12 is IMHO much better than the Norfolk and Western which (again IMHO) suffers from some rather poor track laying in places.

The default speedtrees in TS12 are okay but a bit over sized and look horrible in winter mode. However there are some third party alternatives which look much better and used extensively in my route.

Yes there was certainly some roller-coastering, flying along sharp kinks at 55mph without toppling over. I'll have a look at the Mojave Sub next time, I just went with the one with the steam loco (I notice there are 2 new steam locos and the big boy from 10 years ago has been retained, and that's it on the steam front, so I'll have to look for some more later). I'll also have to have a look at the ECML that I believe was built by members of the KOYLI group, from what I read on the Deltic Aberdonian.

I'm looking forward to giving Suiltjelma a go soon, hopefully! :)

ECML in TS12 is a monster - good route but really pushes the programme beyond what it is comfortably capable of. However that should not detract from the sheer dedication of the KOYLI group who built it.

Hopefully all these routes and more will run much better in T:ANE.
