Just seen on FB a new post by IHH. What he is doing looks really good https://www.facebook.com/IHH-Iron-Horse ... nf&__xts__[0]=68.ARAKJKpI4igxDC9JnDWQEAh3faIhCNjD1BIWymTo8dsuaXSM736SlQJ2pQ_9mG55Dnalmj7wBDZqH24EGq22pq1yLvOOEUXRHRey_CcmBk-FWxLxkaJoaAnWoqv8IR8wko3QpIpZ2ALl3UtUg0joRyN08BnTkBW3hJj_Y-4eBRoizRL23ldyBcgZNoCX6CWPYNhD9vVRGRFbsEuPnGfAweo387EV85-GJXXh5H_WwXn9JKxPhgdmdJOYkp93g4IhBtyaHXb_jbmzsxQ82Pc7HYjk6kCfwPdlpNvWBf_m9nfj5DFmjm6ak6o5s6imtLsRGzORKSk-KcTBUUl4R63vrIBQYZQMOXyiuSNfgnDPHr-Af89pAKaNWHbO

I saw this looks like it works well. I imagine quite a few will happily sit a few hours giving trains the right of way. Be interesting to see if there are any busier areas done like larger station approaches. Its not really my thing yet i'd still love to give it a go.

Hi guys, Just to explain why Shireoaks area was chosen.

The project is not an out and out signalling simulator, (although a good proportion on the last 5 years has been spent trying to get it up to scratch), there are /will be other immersive aspects to railway operation.

I needed a station (for passenger operations), ideally a junction ( to provide operating interest /complexity) a level crossing and a nearby complex that had intensive railway operations ... in this case Shireoaks Colliery.

The idea being that if you are signalling a proto typical timetable there will be periods of inactivity, so I needed somewhere for the player to jump to ( there will be a message if he is needed in the SB )
In the case of Shireoaks Colliery you can take the role of shunter (person not loco)
You will have a small colliery shunter at your disposal that will obey your pull forward, setback and woahhh! commands.
Wagons and loco' are physics based simulation they have
3 link couplings that snatch tight and work by being dropped over the hook
working buffers that clang
wagon brakes that can be pinned down.
Loading animations (basic at the moment) but hope to eventually use Physx granular particles.
Wagons can be Coupled/Uncoupled, Loaded walk down an incline on the brake etc etc
A train of empties can be broken down, loaded then wagons weighed ( maybe) before making up a consist in the departure sidings.
Then couple up to a main line loco +Brake (that you have signalled in.......... and then out)

It is quite surprising watching the slack action ripple up and down the consist just how far the end wagon can rebound and the clang clang clang of buffers as far as I know is a first in any train sim

Activity is not limited to railway / colliery ....... an interesting thought is the Chesterfield canal right next to Shireoaks station, who knows in the future taking a narrow boat through the lock may result in appearance of something special on the line..

This hopefully will turn out to be a multi role open world game..... there are no limits.

It is the intention to include several different time tables.
Simple... for beginners no branch colliery trains, get used to signalling straight though
Varied... intermediate level trains for different destinations need to be signalled differently but only ever one train at once.
Realistic.. using TT derived from WTT could be 3 trains simultaneously all with different routing req.
Continuous Single...Will spawna new service as soon as one has passed through, but only one train at a time
Continuous Double.. both Up and down lines will spawn services as a train is passed through
Kaos....... Branches and Up and Down will spawn as soon as Block is clear

Not all will make it into first release.
There will be a "good" selection of locos and stock included , however all but the default Brush4, 16t and Brake will have to be unlocked

Being a big fan of playing signalman (mostly using the Blockpost software range)I am very excited for this.

Looks really good. Will definitely buy into the early access.

Keep us posted, Sly!
