Thanks everyone, wish the modelling and texturing was my work, but, hey, we're a team. :D

Bjorn, it was rendered in 3DS Max (same software used to actually model it) using Mental Ray with a sky and weather system. The surface is literally just a humongous plane with a carefully made reflective material on it. :)

Ah, I see. Mental ray goodness. Can't wait to see it in game. Judging by the looks of it the modeller (is he on here?) did a good job of keeping the poly count down whilst creating an outstanding asset. Any chance you'd share the tri/texture stats?

He's not on here, no. He's more of a pure art guy rather than a TS guy.

The locomotive alone is 116,273 polys, 210,634 tris.

The steifrahmentender is 26,540 polys, 48,669 tris.

The wannentender is 35,558 polys, 64,535 tris.

I use vRay, too sometimes, that's a serious piece of work!

Textures aren't so well optimised, however, but this is his first model for a game.
2x 2048x2048
3x 2048x1024 (or 1024x2048)
6x 1024x1024
6x 1024x512 (or 512x2024)
4x 512x512
1x 256x512
1x 256x256

Well, hello, folks. Some 2 and a bit years later, I have some exciting news. I'm sure no one believed it would happen (and even I had serious doubts for a very long time), but I'm very excited to say that the BR52 is coming to TS, and should be available this year.

The current plan (albeit subject to change) is to start over, with a fantastic new member of our team, none other than NiclasL of Saechsische IV-K fame. His Gunther-Meyer locos are simply fantastic, and available over at Just Trains - his BR01.5 will also be there soon, when they get their skates on.

We hope to include:
Wartime variants (optional 'realism' patch for insignia is unlikely, on this one, I feel)
Post-war DB variants including with Indusi
Post-war DB variants
Ommr wagon with loads
SSyms wagon with loads

No rekoloks will be included (i.e. the BR52.80s) but these may be made as a separate pack.

We are also hoping to release another locomotive by Niclas before the 52ers are started.

As per usual, everything is subject to change, but we are very proud to welcome Niclas to our team and are incredibly excited for the potential this gives us for the future.

This is the very first time this info has been made available publicly, so, enjoy!

Congrats :). Niclas seems to be a cool guy. Has he gotten an invite already?

4512

BR50.35 loco and 1 out of 2 tenders... finished. 3 wagons and 1 tender to make, plus new sounds.

Bjorn, he doesn't actually do a lot of online stuff considering he's so young! But I will invite him.
