If the crap on Facebook would all be like this, I would be on Facebook.

Took my engine to the facebook
But that don’t make it junk.

The cleaners didn't get a chance to do the loco before I did these renders. :P

James I'm gobsmacked at the detail you have achieved! I model in 7 1/4 live steam and never get that much detail. I wonder if I would ever be able to drive it with all those controls!! That's going to take some work!

Brilliant!

Cheers gents. Not being modelled by me (you've probably missed that in the reams of the thread, so I don't blame you :P) but by a member of my team. Slowly been assembling a team over the past year of people for various things, and Lengyel, the modeller of this loco, was the first one. Each of us have got our own fields we deal with and I co-ordinate between everyone as well as of course doing my own bits and bobs including modelling a new 2MT.

In effect, any part that you would be able to see without opening something up or removing other parts has been modelled. The smokebox and firebox interiors will be done as well and the fire will be fully 3D animated. Lengyel really goes to town and yet is really efficient with polys, he has packed in so much detail (every single nut, bolt, rivet, etc is all 3D) incredibly efficiently. I'm envious of his skill... but at least we have it on our side. :D

Once again these are live screenshots and therefore not full quality renders, but you get the idea - we're almost there with the basic loco and tender now:

One shot duplicated but without shadows on the second one to make the underframe detail better visible.
