Hi Brian,

Just so busy with work and restoring a motorcycle right now , however I'm managing a little bit of progress with my Snells Nook halt, Charnwood Forest Railway model - I've also done some extra files so that it can be 3D printed and laser cut for a friend who is going to make a O Gauge model of the halt

Really enjoying seeing your models and route progress.

Cheers

I'm slowly restoring my old motorbike too Paul. At the moment I have stopped working on it for the winter, no heat in the garage.
Before photo and I have a bit more done than the second photo shows, the front forks are rebuilt now and rear sub frame attached.

The 3D printing is interesting, someone tried 3D printing parts to build an 00 scale model of Nottingham Victoria, the problem was that the resolution of the printing was too large to recreate all the fine details. An 0 scale Victoria would be far too big to deal with. In this image they have tried to add 00 scale brick plasicard, without success.

Hi Brian,

Nice to see your motorbike progress - a real classic !

Here's one I finished last year ....

With 3D printing the material will affect the resolution - it should be possible to do brickwork with the right material - for something as large as Victoria it would cost a fortune - I think laser cutting with 3D printed detail would be the better way - I think you're looking at professional 3D printing to get the quality although with time the home 3D printers are getting better.

Perhaps with the above 3D print they could recess the brickwork by 1mm and have laser cut and etched brickwork segments rather than trying to use hand cut brickwork ?

It's all important stuff that has to be discussed Paul . ;) Nice bike, I have been tempted to buy myself something a bit more modern but so far resisted the temptation.

Drift? Not so much. Brian's bike is close to the time slot we're setting the route in!
