Kngtrains Stuff

Postby Kevmt » Thu Apr 10, 2014 1:18 pm

Just a quick look-see at some of the stuff that I am currently or recently been working on :-

First off is a model of the Ffestiniog Rlys 2ft gauge loco Prince. This is one of the oldest working steam loco's currently working, built in 1863, and is almost certainly the oldest loco still working on its original railway :-

The accompanying Ffestiniog coaches are known as known as bug boxes! These date to the same time as Prince and were built in 1863. These were the first NG passenger carriages built, and it was thought at the time that there was a great danger of them toppling over on such a narrow gauge. Hence they were built with a very low center of gravity which gives them there squat appearance!:-

Also being worked on is a Leek & Manifold Railway loco to go alongside Richard Maxteds route of the same name:-

And finally, I made this 43xx over a year ago for an old discontinued project.

I had a look at it again, today, and it does look as if this would be easy to finish off. It would need some work on the physics, though. :-

They all look superb.

Maybe a few of us here will be able to help finish off the 43xx.

Absolutely beautiful stuff Kevin. Loving it all! :o

I know you're still having trouble with your RSI, I hope it's been getting better - more for your own sake than in hopes of getting my mitts on these, though I must admit I'm hugely looking forward to them all. :)

I have a wealth of GWR info and such available to me and have a lot of contacts at the DRC where the only original 4300 survives (the other preserved one is of the later modified 9300 variant), 5322, which saw use in France with the ROD. If there's anything you need help with, let me know! :)

That Leek and Manifold tank is a beauty Kev, lovely to see something I've only ever seen in books starting to come to life in the 3d world.

All eagerly awaited by me Kev. It surprised me how long it took for such a big and versatile class as the 43xx to appear in MSTS, but it's been even longer coming to TS.

Any and all narrow gauge stuff welcome into RW-TS2014 Kev, still one of the largely untapped areas along with trams and transit. I have a number of potential route projects for ng but all dependent on getting resources to run on them.

Excellent models. Building locos is a skill that I want to learn in the future.
Keep up the fantastic work.
